Before I started working with DJ, I thought I was a fairly good athlete. Since then, I’ve reached a whole new level. DJ has brought knowledge, professionalism, and support to the forefront and now my athletic goals and achievements are everything I could’ve imagined. I’m 100% a better athlete after working with DJ. DJ is a great running coach. I was an ultra runner before I started working with him, and I was doing maybe 15-20 miles a week, 900-1000 miles a year. I started training with DJ for Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim in the first half of the year, and then World’s Toughest Mudder later in the year. He trained me up as a runner and started doing 30-40 mile weeks on a consistent basis. The work was spread out and I was never run down. DJ made me a stronger and more confident runner, ending my 2024 year with 1400+ running miles, and a first place Age Group medal from a Toughest Mudder!

I started working with DJ to build up my confidence with endurance events and hit some big goals at multiple fitness events in 2024. His training had me ready to go for a Rim2Rim2Rim bucket list fun run, get a PB in a half ironman event and finally hit my goal of 50 miles for Worlds Toughest Mudder. He has been great at building up my weekly mileage and doing check-ins to make sure everything is feeling great. I especially like getting to talk through race strategy and fueling before a big event and found that it helps a lot with my mindset going into a race. He is always great at offering advice when it comes to training/race nutrition or what might help in getting heat acclimated for warmer race. Having DJ as my coach, I feel confident in putting a big event on the calendar that he’ll have me prepared by race day to go and crush it!
